October 17th, 2014 | Equine Therapy Demonstration from Robyn Larson-Shelton

Robyn Larson-Shelton - Equine Miracle

Robyn Larson-Shelton, Equine Miracle: Remedial Therapy and Rehabilitation for Horses, will be sharing her extensive equine knowledge on the Unbridled 2014 Horse Quarter. Robyn’s presentation, “Is your horse hurting? Simple techniques to help owners detect potential issues” will walk you through how to view the horse from each aspect looking for signs of injury, muscular/skeletal asymmetry and pain and include demonstration of how to conduct a ‘HELP’ evaluation, using your hands to find possible issues.

Robyn has worked in the horse industry for over 30 years, and has a background in starting horses under saddle, Training & Horsemanship for different disciplines, and teaching riding; before becoming a soft tissue therapist. Robyn’s enduring passion for horses has led her on a lifelong quest to improve their lives through soft tissue therapies, rehabilitation and pain-free training & horsemanship methods. She is dedicated to educating horse owners, trainers and carers in simple evaluation techniques, exercises and hands on therapy. These ensure a more enduring benefit for the horse than a simple visit from herself, or another therapist, can provide.

You can read more about Robyn on our Performers page!

October 6th, 2014 | Come check out the Unbridled 2014 Breed Pavilion!

Unbridled 2014 Breed Pavilion

The 2014 Unbridled Breed Pavilion will be THE place to be at the festival for everyone who wants to get up and close with our beautiful horsey friends! The Pavilion will be packed with a stunning array of horses and their breeders, who will be bursting to share their knowledge. Breed Pavilion exhibitors will also each have time on the Horse Quarter Demonstration Arena to take their horses for a little spin, and to take the spotlight.

You can read more about the Unbridled 2014 Breed Pavilion here!

October 4th, 2014 | Zone 16 Pony Club will be strutting their stuff at Unbridled 2014!

Zone 16 Pony Club

Zone 16 Pony Club members are coming to ride at the Unbridled Festival. They’ll be performing a MUSICAL TROOP DRILL! They will be all out in the uniforms of the various clubs, strutting their stuff to their favourite tunes…

Pony Club is an organisation involved with teaching riding and horsemanship to children and young adults. It incorporates many riding disciplines based on a foundation of good fun and friendship. Riders bring their own horse along to rally days where they have an opportunity to participate in many activities, which may include Show jumping, Dressage, Sporting, Mounted Games, Cross country, Polocrosse, and general theory. There are also lots of different competitions hosted by clubs throughout our zone. As a member all riders may attend these competitions. They cater for beginners through to State Championship levels.

You can read more about Zone 16 Pony Club on our Performers page!

September 30th, 2014 | Come and see a hair raising Barrel Racing demo at Unbridled 2014!

Australian Barrel Horse Association

Get ready for some major thrills! Unbridled 2014 will feature a heart-thumping barrel racing demonstration from Adele Edwards, champion barrel racer, and the Australian Barrel Horse Association.

Barrel racing is the fastest and most glamorous of the western events. But it is also one of the most fun! Adele Edwards has won every major barrel race in the eastern states in the last ten years. She and her great horse Rocky are a force to be reckoned with and have repeatedly beaten the best cowgirls in the country.

Barrel racing is a timed event that has no judges and therefore no subjective points of view. Barrel racing is graceful and simplistic — a rider, a horse, three barrels and the stopwatch. The horse is ridden as quickly as possible around a cloverleaf course of three barrels. Ride quickly and win. Hesitate and lose.

You can read more about Adele and Barrel Racing on our Performers page!

October 8th, 2014 | 2014 Unbridled Festival Official Printed Program – Advertising Deadline Extended!

We are pleased to announce that we have been able to extend the deadline for advertising space for the Unbridled 2014 program. The program is going to be a gorgeous, B5 souvenir, bursting with stunning pictures, the full 2014 program, performer details and more. We are printing 7000 copies of this stunner, and it is a fantastic way to get the news out about your business, club, organisation and more to a huge, mixed crowd of horsie and non-horsie people.

The new (and very final) deadline for advertising is October 17. We are quickly getting filled up, but definitely want to offer the opportunity to everyone who wants a spot in the Program.

You can learn more about advertising in the program, including pricing, by visiting our Advertising page here.

September 16th, 2014 | Calling All Volunteers!

Calling All Volunteers!

We are currently on the hunt for a gaggle of generous volunteers to help us make this fabulous festival run like a dream. We are hoping that you might know some amazing folks who would be interested in getting involved! And of course we hope you might be keen too!

Volunteers will play a key role in helping to ensure Unbridled is a safe and enjoyable event for festival patrons and performers (both human and horse).

The festival has a wide variety of volunteer jobs available, from horse marshalling to stage management to working in the festival shop. We need people of all shapes, sizes and skill-sets – there is a place for everyone at Unbridled.
